West Ham and Tottenham are facing the London Derby of Sunday – a fixed value that will in reality not enjoy either parties.

For the West Ham of Graham Potter it is an opportunity to save a little proud of what has been a gloomy campaign.

The hammers were without winning in seven and had a late collapse last weekend, which wasted a 2-1 lead in Brighton to lose 3-2 in stopping time.

That collapse felt too familiar for West Ham fans.

Since Potter’s first Premier League match was in charge on January 14, only Southampton (14) have dropped more points of winning positions than the Hammers (12). None of the last four games have won in which they took the lead (D3, L1).

The men of Ange Postecoglou produced a blister screen in midweek to beat Bodo/Glimt 3-1 in the first stage of their semi-final Europa League and are now only two games of ending their long waiting time on silverware.

As a result, rotation is expected in the London Stadium. They have lost their last four in the league matches, their worst run since 2019, and shipped 4+ goals in their last two.
