Lewis Hamilton looked like he could burst into tears while giving blunt answers in his interview after the race in Barcelona.
The Seven -time world champion Did Hartstringen blamed when he blamed himself for a “terrible” performance at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Things looked for Hamilton after the qualification on Saturday, where he secured fifth – his joint best results.
But soon in the race his teammate Charles Leclerc Braked on his heels and he was told to give his place to the Monegasque driver after just nine laps.
It was a loser moment for the Brit who finished in sixth Max Verstappen’s 10 second time penalty.
He was overtaken by his old one Mercedes Teammate George Russell and, to rub more salt in the wounds, Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg.
He said after the race: “Well, what do you want me to say? I had a really bad day and have nothing to say. It was a difficult day,
“There is nothing else to add. It was terrible. It makes no sense to explain it. It is not your fault. I just don’t know what to say.”
When the team was told whether the team can find some answers, he added: “I’m sure they won’t do that – it was probably just me.”
Hamilton’s former teammate Nico Rosberg said: “It’s hard to see” the Ferrari driver struggle.
He added: “Sunday was a terrible day for him because he was just slow there, which is very unusual,
“Yes, sometimes he left in qualifying, but in races he is usually really great and the race was shockingly bad.
“He also has no answers. Was there damage on the floor? These floors are so sensitive and there may always be a little and you lose a lot of time.
“If you don’t have any answers, it’s really difficult as a driver, then you see your teammate Race on his way to third place on stage. In the light of the entire season, he has a very dark situation so far.”
