The Serie A title could be decided tonight if Napoli and Inter remain locked up in the hunt for silverware.
Both clubs play their season finals tonight Antonio Conte‘s Zijhost Cagliari and Simone Inzaghimen travel to Como.
Napoli are in pole position for their second league title in three years because they have 79 points, one more than Under.
If the blues claim the victory over Cagliari, they will guarantee their status if Series A Champions.
A draw would also be enough, but that would require Intero not to win at Como.
Inzaghi’s side can only win the competition title tonight if they win and Napoli drop points.
There is a scenario that both clubs can end on the same points after 38 games – but what happens if that is the case?
What happens if Napoli and Inter end up on the same points in the Serie A?
If Napoli loses home to Cagliari and Inter Draw in Como, both clubs end at 79 points.
In the Premier League, the Tiebreaker would be target difference, but the same is not used in the Serie A.
In 2022, the competition reintroduced a rule, which means that the teams fighting for the title or fighting relegation will face each other in a one-off play-off if they have the same points, regardless of the target difference or the right of the head.
The winner-takes-all competition would take place on Monday 26 May in the San Siro in Milan or, for safety reasons, Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.
The only time that Scudetto’s play-off took place was in 1964 when Bologna and Inter finished on 54 points.
