“What kind of obscene language?” PM Modi slams MVA leaders amid ‘maal’ comments row | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unleashed a scathing attack on Friday Maha Vikas Aghadi Alliance leaders over alleged derogatory remarks against women amid Arvind Sawant’s controversial comments against Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC.
Addressing a campaign rally in Maharashtra’s Dhule, the Prime Minister accused opposition leaders of disrespecting women, claiming that mothers and sisters across Maharashtra would not forgive such behavior by alliance members.
“Every woman in Maharashtra should be careful towards these Maha Vikas Aghadi members. They cannot tolerate women empowerment. The entire Maharashtra is witnessing how Congress and these alliance people have resorted to insulting women. What kind of obscene language? What kind of comments are made to humiliate women?” Prime Minister Modi said.
“No mother or sister in Maharashtra can ever forgive these actions of the alliance members,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi’s comments assume significance in the backdrop of UBT faction MP Arvind Sawant’s comments in which he called the Shiv Sena candidate from Mumbadevi Shaina NC ‘imported meal’.
“Imported grind doesn’t work here, only original grind works. We have original meal,” Sawant said without naming Shaina NC.
