What’s New on Streaming This Week? Check Out These Titles on Peacock, Netflix, and More
We may be in the middle of the hottest days of summer, but thanks to great new series and movies on streaming services like Netflix, Max and Peacock, there’s still plenty to get excited about.
It’s been two years since Season 3 of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy aired, and this week the fourth and final season arrives. New episodes debut August 8. On Hulu, Dance Moms: A New Era promises, you know, a new era of Dance Moms. New dancers, a new coach, and new meddling moms abound when the show premieres August 7.
A new season of the financial drama Industry premieres Sunday, August 11 on HBO and Max, with a number of new faces, including Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington, on the show floor.
Watch Damon and Affleck — Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, that is — in their new film The Instigators, which Affleck co-wrote on Apple TV Plus. You and the kids can also tune in to Yo Gabba Gabbaland! on Apple TV Plus, a reboot of the music-driven kids series. And over on Peacock, you can still watch all of their Olympic coverage leading up to the closing ceremonies on Sunday, August 11, or, if you want something that combines sports and comedy, check out the platform’s latest sitcom, Mr. Throwback, starring NBA star Stephen Curry and Adam Pally.

Hulu
Dance Moms: A New Era (August 7)
Dance Moms ran for nine seasons and made celebrities out of dancers like Maddie Ziegler and coach Abby Lee Miller. Now, five years after the original show ended, Dance Moms is getting a reboot on Hulu. Dance Moms: A New Era will star coach Glo Hampton and a new group of young dancers who try to find fame with the help of—or in spite of—their meddling mothers. The new series premieres August 7.
Peacock
Steph Curry may be dominating our screens as part of Team USA’s roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics, but he’s also trying to dominate the sitcom game. Curry co-stars in the new series Mr. Throwback (he’s also a producer on the show), which teams him up with Adam Pally, who plays a down-on-his-luck memorabilia dealer whose only hope for redemption is teaming up with his old elementary school classmate, who just so happens to be… a current NBA star named Steph Curry. Saturday Night Live’s Ego Nwodim co-stars in the series, which binges six episodes on August 8.
Prime video
In the Prime Video original One Fast Move, Riverdale’s KJ Apa stars as Wes, an aspiring motorcycle racer who seeks advice from his estranged father (Eric Dane) as he tries to make it in the racing world. Along the way, he also finds support from an aspiring singer (Maia Reficco) and a motorcycle shop owner (Edward James Olmos). The action-packed drama debuts on Prime Video on August 8.
