WhatsApp expands its sticker collection in partnership with Giphy
WhatsApp has introduced a slew of new additions for Android and iOS users to express themselves more creatively. It has partnered with US-based online database Giphy, which will make its extensive sticker collection available to users. In addition, Android users can now use the custom sticker maker to show their creativity and create new stickers. Other features include better organization of stickers and their creation using Meta AI – the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered conversation assistant available on Meta Platforms apps like WhatsApp and Instagram.
New Ways to Use WhatsApp Stickers
In a blog afterWhatsApp unveiled new ways for users to better express themselves using stickers. It is bringing Giphy’s sticker collection to the instant messaging platform, allowing users to search for relevant stickers without leaving the app. They can tap on the sticker icon and search for the one they prefer.
Additionally, the custom sticker maker is now available on Android. This feature was introduced for the iOS platform in January, allowing users to select an existing image and add elements such as cutting out, text and drawing to it. They can also edit previously created stickers that are stored in the sticker drawer.
If users can’t find a sticker that matches what they want to express, they can use the AI sticker creation feature via Meta AI. The feature is currently available on Android and iOS platforms in the US. It is also accessible in two additional languages: Spanish and Bahasa Indonesia.
The instant messaging platform says it is improving sticker organization by introducing the ability to preview new sticker packs. The new stickers can be viewed under the downloaded stickers in the sticker drawer. If users want to move their position or remove them, they can simply long-press on a sticker to manage it.
Gadgets 360 staff was able to verify the new sticker organization capabilities on the latest version of WhatsApp for iOS. Since WhatsApp features are typically rolled out in phases, it may take some time before they are available to all users.
