Deadpool & Wolverine, also known as Deadpool 3, is out in theaters now. Now’s the time to catch up by watching all the X-Men films in the franchise before or after you see the new movie. X-Men Timeline Order
Here’s a suggestion if you want to stream according to timeline stories, which can tie certain plot points together more efficiently. X-Men: Days of Future Past is one of the most important films in the franchise because it involves time travel. Wolverine lives in the year 2023, where Sentinels are hunting down and killing mutants. To prevent this outcome, he flies back in time to 1973 to find Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels. The 2023 X-Men crew knows that Trask’s death sets in motion the chain of events that lead to the bleak future. What happens in this film is a readout, or reset, for the events of X-Men, X2, Last Stand, and the Wolverine films.
