It’s fair to say that Tottenham And Man United are in a unique – and somewhat bizarre – situation while they go on Wednesday Europa League final.

Although they have both passed domestic campaigns to forget about 17th and 16th respectively, there is still a chance to secure silverware and deliver success.

Ange Postecoglou has remained challenging that he can bring a trophy to North Londs, but will have to pass Ruben Amorim‘s United to do this – that are unbeaten in Europe.

With a golden ticket back to the Champions League Dangling for both coaches, there is everything to play for when they meet in the Estadio de San Mames.

The two games have already confronted three times this season – with Tottenham that they all won – will they be able to find the victory again?

Here the writers of Mail Sport offer their predictions for the collision of Wednesday evening.

They are both unpredictable teams, but I see Manchester United focusing this – despite the fact that Tottenham has already overcome them three times this season.

The men of Ruben Amorim have game changers such as Bruno Fernandes who can get a magical moment out of nowhere.

Spurs are also susceptible to incidental ‘Spursy’ moments where they capitulate when they are in sight of glory.

What is clear is that both teams need a heavy victory to save their terrible seasons somewhat by securing Champions League football. It tips this game into a hard -fought affair that can easily reach extra time.

Judgment: Man United wins

James Sharpe

I am worried how great the impact of injuries on main makers James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski will have on the side of Postecoglou – and how much the burden of hope and history will weigh on their shoulders.

Because no matter how bad Manchester United has been, they still know what it feels like to play in the big final and, crucial, how they can win them. Not spurs. That desire for silverware means that it will be impossible to treat this as just another game.

However, Postecoglou has found a way so far to turn it into a focus and no fear. Spurs also have the better players, especially in the defense, in advance … and certainly in goal! Even without Maddison and Kulusevski, their attacking full-backs Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie can have some joy and they will be the key.

I think traces get it done … just.

I support Spurs with not much confidence, based on the three victories against Manchester United this season and the Vital Romero and Van de Ven Axis in Central Defense.

The two started together in the last five Europa League tires and the Postecoglou team won and signed there. Tottenham is another proposition when they both play, and they have barely been together in the Premier League.

Although of course it is still not perfect. And they miss creativity in midfield without Maddison, Bergvall or Kulusevski, so I don’t expect a full throttle Ange Ball.

Maybe something of a hybrid tactical model with less risk of midfield and quickly counterattacks … Spurs 3 men United 1

Judgment: Tottenham Win

Lewis Steele

Manchester United – because even in the worst case they always win things. And even if traces are at their best, they don’t.

I just see United popping up in the night and win.

Judgment: Man United wins

Raath Al-Samarrai

Tottenham Win. Beating United has been their only consistency point this season and there the Evidence Trail is getting cold for predictions around these parties.

It can also be a case of Tottenham’s need that weighs the needs of United heavier – for all the shortcomings of Postcoglou I have rarely noticed a clear lack of desire, but elements of United have invested it.

Judgment: Tottenham Win

Nathan -Zout

I don’t expect a thriller, but I just believe that the final often falls on the shoulders of the best players and United will have the two best on the field in Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo.

I am also not going to play down the amount of definitive experience in the ranks of United to drag them over the line. Casemiro played in 19 career senior finals and won them all. That counts for something in games between parties as bad as these are two.

Smal United wins for me.

I fear that this will be a game that both teams are afraid of losing and not quite good enough to win.

That is the case, it would not surprise me if this would go the distance after a scoreless draw. I am going for traces to win on penalties.

Judgment: Tottenham Win

Joe Bernstein

Since it is impossible for both teams to lose, I take Spurs to keep track of Ange’s record in the second season.

Not much difficult evidence has been admitted, but this is the year of ending trophy-drying (Newcastle, Crystal Palace) and the timing of the return of Son Heung-Min from injury is perfect for him to be the hero to be the hero

Judgment: Tottenham Win

Chris Wheeler

Who knows what to expect from these two teams this season? Spurs have already defeated United three times and can easily make four at the San Mames.

But United seems to have a little more momentum in the final, in terms of Amad Diallo and Mason Mount that come back in fitness and form compared to Tottenham who loses two important players in James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

United has somehow succeeded in staying unbeaten in Europe and I think their record will remain intact.

Judgment: Man United wins

Ian Herbert

United has been a different side in Europe throughout the season and in Bruno Fernandes they have a player who has been an inspiration for the past nine months and who is at a different level for someone else from one of these parties.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that this could be the final of Amad Diallo. Amazingly enough, it is his third Europa League final and he wants to make up for earlier disappointments.

The mood around United just seems more positive than Spurs, despite the fact that their own competition season had been just as much a disaster.

You can never write Manchester United with their history, but I don’t see Lady Luck shining on them on this occasion, because Tottenham should have enough to win this tactical battle, even with their injuries.

Judgment: Tottenham Win

Chris Sutton

I have a gut feeling that Manchester United takes away this, as much as I would rather see that Ange Postecoglou comes across the line and holds two fingers to everyone who has interrogated him and his approach.
