Whoop has to be careful: this large Garmin -Rival is now launching a “Subscription Free” Screen Fitness Band, and I need more news

- Polar launches a screen -free tire, confirmed in a recent press release
- It is a diversion -free portable set to launch on 3 September
- Very few details are available, but it will certainly be subscription -free
I learned about Polar for the first time when searching for alternatives to the Best Garmin -WatchesBut Polar as a company has been around for a long time: Polar Electro actually developed the world’s first wireless heart rate monitor and submitted the patent in 1980.
Although the company has since gone behind some of its competitors in the smartwatch popularity, Polar does make solid, reliable devices that are regularly on our Best running watches And Best heart rate monitor Lists.
But now Polar goes to a new category: eating Whoop’s lunch by releasing a screen -free wristband.
However, what fascinates me is not only a new challenger in the screen -free portable space; It is the fact that this is a whoop alternative that is fully subscription-free.
I have not yet published my review for the Whoop MG, the newest high-end portable that is released by Whoop, but to make a long story short: there is a lot to love, especially the detailed analyzes. Although it is not ideal for runners, it is probably the most useful portable for hybrid athletes and gyms that I have tested in a very long time, thanks to the tagging system, workoutbuilder and advanced recovery aids in our style.
However, it is not perfect: the locking system often comes apart when switching off per year, With the cheapest layer that comes in at £ 169 / $ 199 / au $ 299 per year. For these costs you will receive the device together with an annual subscription to the Whoop app.
Polar does have a premium subscription in its app, but it is specific to his fitness program function, an adaptive training planger tool. The basic analyzes collected by Polar Devices are free, making the devices a fairly good value: once a device has been purchased, it can be used to spend money without more money.
I am really enthusiastic about the prospect of an alternative to Budget Whoop without the costly annual subscription. Polar’s running watches, such as the Polar Grit X2 Pro, and heart rate monitors, such as the Polar H10, are usually very well assessed, which stays well on the portable.
Although no price has been released for the screen -free band – we don’t even know the name – we have a launch date for it: 3 September, as stated in a polar press release.
The release states that: “The upcoming Polar Wearable will not only be the first screen -free wrist layout of the brand, but it will also be a subscription -free alternative to other health bands and fitness trackers on the market.
“By eliminating the need for a screen, this new category Weearables set accurate insights and data in the background without penetrating the daily life of users, seamlessly in their routines while they continue their day.
“Users can then check their statistics and progress when it suits them, stay connected to their sleep, activity, health and fitness – without demanding their attention.”
It certainly sounds a lot like a cheaper Whoop, but we will certainly know more closer to the launch date. Expect a detailed comparison when it drops, together with my full Whoop MG assessment soon.
