Grant Burge Wines has launched the Buttery Chardonnay ink bee Dan Murphy’s for just $18.99 per bottle or $108.60 for a box of six.
The white wine has a ‘rich and velvety’ texture, made from ripe stone fruit – including peach and apricot.
The new mix It is described as having ‘beautifully balanced notes of roasted almonds, with soft, creamy flavors of brioche and nectarine.
The buttery aftertaste has a ‘refreshing acidity’, making it a versatile choice to pair with dishes including roasted chicken and creamy pastas.
Whether you enjoy a glass alone or pair it with food, the variety is perfect for long-time chardonnay fans or those looking for a new drop to try.

Buttery chardonnays became famous in the 1980s. But ten years later the classic variant fell out of fashion – after wine drinkers ‘got tired of excessive oak and’butter bomb style chard‘ in every restaurant, bar and bottle shop at the time.
After being canceled in the 90s, buttery chardonnay has been revived with ‘more balance and less butter bomb’.
So what makes them ‘buttery’?
It is a wine-making technique that involves a type of bacteria that converts the wine’s malic acid, the acidity naturally present in grapes, into lactic acid.
The process essentially converts hard, sharp acid into soft, creamy acid.
The maturation period and the type of barrel used for the chardonnay contributes to the degree of butteriness in both taste and texture.

In July, Grant Burge released a sold-out limited edition of his popular Barossa ink shiraz – with fans describing it as the ‘best red wine ever’.
More than a dozen customers gave the ‘beautifully tasting’ bottle a five-star review – with a near-perfect average rating of 4.1 out of 5.
“She’s a beauty, best $15 I ever spent,” said one.
Another added: ‘I’m a big fan of this wine range. Great value for money. Rich, tasty, lots of fruit. A nice drop for this price.’
‘It’s like drinking velvet. It has a nice, smooth taste; I think a duck dish would pair perfectly. A pork fillet with soft, sweet and orange flavors would also be a good match,” one person said.
