Will Man Utd be in Europe next season?

The short answer is no – despite the fact that a maximum of ten teams may play in the European competition next season.

But after losing the Europa League final of Ruben Amorim, one of them will not be.

That’s because the Red Devils will end the Premier League season well from the European places.

They are currently 16th.

In 2025-26 there were five English teams in the Champions League.

That is a more than the usual four, due to the performance of Premier League clubs in Europe this season has delivered them a bonus spot.

Tottenham is now also in the competition after their epic victory, making it no fewer than six parties playing at the top table of World Football.

There are also two places for English clubs in the Europa League – one is traditionally given to the team that ends fifth, but this season it is a Champions League place.

The other Europa League spot went to Crystal Palace after they won the FA Cup against Man City last week.

Complicating factors are Chelsea and Newcastle.

The tone has already qualified for the Europa Conference League that won the EFL Cup earlier this season, while the blues will be in the Conference League final next week.

With both teams that are still able to qualify for the Champions League based on the final competition position, people like Brighton and Brentford still have a chance for Europe.

But it won’t be man.
