Wolves appear to be ahead of Aston Villa in the race for West Ham defender Craig Dawson and have bid £5.25million for the 32-year-old.

Dawson has yet to play for the Hammers in the current season after sustaining a preseason thigh injury, but he is nearing his return to fitness.
