Woman dies in two-vehicle collision in NSW Hunter Region

A woman has died in a horror two-car crash in the NSW Hunter region that closed a major country road.

The woman died at the scene after the two cars crashed on Denman Road, Muswellbrook, at around 5.30pm on Saturday.

According to NSW Police, two sedans collided during the crash.

The female driver of one of the vehicles could not be resuscitated.

Two men and two women, all in their twenties, were treated by paramedics.

The accident closed Denham Road in both directions at the junction with Edderton Road.

Motorists have been instructed to find an alternative route and allow extra time.

Light vehicles can use Edderton Rd and Golden Highway, while heavy vehicles can use New England Hwy, Lemington Road and Golden Highway.
