Woman found dead at Footscray adult entertainment club – while man’s body is found in nearby Melbourne home
Two murder investigations are underway in Melbourne after the bodies of a man and a woman were found overnight.
Police were called to a property on Cowper Street in Footscray, in the city’s west, for a welfare check just after 8pm on Friday. A woman was found dead at the scene.
Half an hour earlier, police had attended a house on Iffla St in South Melbourne, across the Yarra River, where they found a dead man at the property.
The homicide unit has launched two investigations into the separate incidents, but will investigate any possible links given the short timeframe.
Both the man and woman have yet to be formally identified.

Crime scenes have been established at both locations, with police seen at the front of 149 Rainbow Garden on Saturday.
It is understood the woman was found in a car outside the location.
Victoria Police said no arrests have been made at this stage, but they believe other people were involved in both cases.
Police are calling on anyone with information to contact them.
