One woman was killed and nine were seriously injured after a suspected shooting in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba.

The ambulance service previously said a seriously injured woman in her 20s was treated at the scene before succumbing to her injuries.

Another eight people were injured in the attack, including one in a moderate to serious condition who are receiving treatment at the nearby Soroka Hospital.

According to local reports, the gunman – an Arab-Israeli resident of a nearby Bedouin village – was shot dead. Police are now investigating whether the attack involved both stabbing and gunfire.

After the attack, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for the terrorist’s deportation despite his Israeli citizenship and his family, Israeli media said.

This is the second mass shooting incident in Israel in a week.

On October 1, a suspected terrorist attack was reported in Tel Aviv, Israel, with Israeli police reporting a suspected shooting in Jaffa that left several victims.

Police confirmed that eight people were killed and seven others injured in the attack, which took place on Jerusalem Street, near a light rail station.
