Woman murdered after teen ‘runs red light behind the wheel of stolen Audi’
A teenager has been arrested following a horror crash that left a woman dead when the boy allegedly ran a red light in a stolen Audi before crashing into her car.
The collision happened at 9.47am on Thursday on Dohles Rocks Road, at Murrumba Downs, in Brisbane’s north.
The Audi crashed into a Toyota sedan before crashing into a police vehicle.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and quickly tried to free the 69-year-old woman from the Toyota, but she could not be saved.
The 16-year-old driver of the allegedly stolen Audi was later arrested and taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with significant leg injuries.
He is currently under police guard.
Queensland Police are investigating whether the teenager ran a red light before the Audi crashed into the Toyota.
Chief Inspector Adam Guild said the massacre began when the 16-year-old male perpetrator allegedly hijacked a car from a female victim at gunpoint.

Police set up cordons and patrols in the Moreton Bay area to locate the suspected stolen vehicle, he said, but the blue Audi sedan crashed at the McClintock-Dohles Rocks Road intersection.
Superintendent Guild said the boy was known to police and described the crash as ‘high-impact’ and ‘very tragic’.
Newly elected Queensland Premier David Crisafulli issued a statement in which X expressed his condolences to the elderly victim’s loved ones and family members.
“I am receiving ongoing briefings regarding the tragic incident that occurred at Murrumba Downs this morning,” the statement said.
“Although the investigation is still in its early stages, the news of what happened is, as it was for me, harrowing for the people of Queensland.
“A family is coping with the loss of a loved one and the thoughts and prayers of the entire state are with them.”
Two police officers were also injured when the suspected stolen vehicle crashed into their police vehicle.
Two other patients were also injured after the horror accident and were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police reportedly found a firearm in the car and Superintendent Guild said at no point did officers pursue the allegedly stolen Audi.
Several lanes on Dohles Rocks Road have now reopened after motorists were told the intersection of Dohles Rocks Road and McClintock Drive was closed.
The Audi and the Toyota were removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Resident Todd Whisson, who lives on Dohles Rocks Road, said he was about to start his art class when one of his students saw a car with several teenagers following her for several miles.
“So she came to my house to park for class and the car kept going and she was like ‘oh that’s good, they’re gone’,” Mr Whisson told the Courier mail.
Mr Whisson said the teenagers returned a short time later while his student stood outside her car.

“They stopped and said, ‘Give us your car,’ give us your keys, or we’ll shoot you,” he said.
He said his student gave them the keys to the vehicle before leaving in the car.
A short time later, police arrived to investigate the alleged incident.
“She was at a neighbour’s house to be comforted as she was in shock,” Mr Whisson said.
Other locals reported hearing a ‘loud bang’, while some recalled hearing the sound of emergency vehicles approaching the scene after the crash.
Police believe that the driver of the suspected stolen Audi may have links to the people who stole an orange Holden Hatchback that was seen in the area at the time.
Anyone with information or who knows the whereabouts of the orange vehicle is asked to contact police.
