Women actors in Kerala go to Supreme Court over code of conduct | India News – Times of India

Kochi: The Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) has filed a petition in the Kerala HC seeking guidelines to Malayalam film industry until the government has passed legislation on this matter.The bench sought a response from the state government. The petitioners stressed the need to protect the fundamental rights of women in the film industry while ensuring equal opportunities and dignity.The petitioners have submitted a draft code of conduct for cinema, proposing measures to address issues such as work culture, gender sensitization and inadequate infrastructure. The code also advocates a zero-tolerance policy against sexual harassment, abuse, intimidation and coercion.
