Women on social media are shocked to hear that ‘almost all men’ are guilty of disgusting toilet use
Women on social media are coming to the horrifying realization that a not insignificant portion of the male population often urinates into bottles and jars instead of using a toilet.
Stories of such disgusting discoveries abound on TikTok and Instagram, with wives, girlfriends, sisters and mothers unearthing collections in bedrooms and labeling their male loved ones as ‘pretty disgusting’.
While it’s easy to dismiss the habit as sheer laziness, experts say it could be a sign of serious health problems.
A video that recently gained viral attention on Instagram and was viewed nearly 400,000 times showed a woman discovering that her 38-year-old boyfriend had urinated in a large pot at home.
Her experience is reflected in dozens of threads on Reddit, where thousands of women add their comments to talk about discovering similar collections.
Young men who admit to this unsanitary habit claim that it is “normal for most guys,” with one adding, “any man who doesn’t admit to it is lying.”
One clip, which has been viewed more than 100,000 times on TikTok, shows a woman named Karen shocked that her husband John would urinate in a bottle during a road trip.
Filthy: Colleen’s sister left the basement in a mess when she moved and left behind at least 20 water bottles that her boyfriend had peed in instead of going to the bathroom
“You’re disgusting,” she is heard saying as he holds up a bottle he wants to pee in.
He then defends himself by saying, ‘Am I disgusting? Or do I use what I have to my advantage?’
John, talking to his wife, then adds, “If you could, you would.”
A slew of users responded to confirm that, based on their experience, men do indeed urinate in bottles on road trips.
One story that recently attracted a lot of attention on social media is that of a young woman who called to speak on the popular comedy podcast Therapy Gecko.
The clip of the conversation has been viewed approximately 400,000 times Instagram.
In it, the woman explained how she discovered that her 38-year-old boyfriend had urinated into a mason jar of about 1 liter in their apartment.
When she confronted him, she said he immediately became defensive.
“I grabbed the p*** pot and came downstairs and just dropped it in front of him and I thought, ‘This is f***ing disgusting,'” she said.
“He took it away from me and said, ‘We’re never talking about this again.’
“He washed it out and then put it in the dishwasher, and now I can’t remember which one it is.”
When asked by podcast host Lyle Drescher how many more urine containers she has to discover before she leaves him, she replied “one.”
‘I couldn’t live with someone sitting in pots,’
Then she added, “But apparently so.”

Meanwhile, a woman wrote on Reddit about how she went to her date’s house and discovered two bottles “filled to the brim” at his desk, one of which was open.
When he inquired, he revealed that they were full of urine and that he used them while playing video games, defending his behavior by saying it was “normal for most guys.”
Others told how their partners used bottles at night to avoid having to go to the toilet in the dark.
In response to one such story, one woman said, “Your husband is disgusting. I would literally leave a man for this. He’s not going to change, he’s just going to get better at hiding it from you.”
Others responded that there were serious concerns that men who adopt the habit do not wash their hands properly and then touch objects in the home.
Some stories detailed how their brothers or sons, some of whom have autism, hoarded such collections in their rooms.
One clip shared on TikTok shows a Massachusetts college student cleaning video of a filthy basement littered with dozens of bottles filled with urine that her sister’s boyfriend had used.
Men themselves have also revealed some of the reasons why they choose such a disgusting course of action.
British boxer Anthony Yarde has previously spoken about how his battle with depression made him want to lock himself in his room, and as a result he started urinating in bottles.
“I peed in plastic bottles, there were fifteen plastic bottles in my room because I didn’t want to leave,” he said in a clip on YouTube.
Another man, Kevin Leonardo, told his 1 million followers on TikTok that he urinated in bottles because of his childhood fear of the supernatural and because he didn’t want to go to the bathroom in the dark.
“In my room there were bottles and bottles of like p***,” he said.
“This is because when I was in high school, like my friends, I would say ‘Oh My God The Witching Hour’ between 12 noon and 4 a.m.”
Although urinating in rooms can be a sign of depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder, there may be other reasons as well.
Chief among these is sheer laziness, with some men not wanting to stop playing video games to take a bathroom break.
The other could be drug testing. As part of some job or drug rehabilitation programs, men may be required to submit urine tests for analysis to see if they have used illegal substances.
So by having a supply of ‘clean’ urine on hand, they may be able to fool the test if they continue to use drugs occasionally.
Another reason men mention is living in shared accommodation with one bathroom and having no alternative if it is occupied.
Storing urine in bottles and jars is not recommended as it is unsanitary.
Some people have been known to even drink their own urine or even the urine of others for the supposed benefits, although this is not recommended by doctors.
