Xbox PC app adds 400 games to store alongside redesigned home screen
Microsoft has updated the Xbox PC app home screen with a fresh look to make it easier to see new releases, sales and events, and added 400 previously unavailable games to the Xbox Store.
The move comes as Microsoft continues to expand Xbox Game Pass, but seeks to increase discovery of titles not on the gaming subscription service. The company worked with partners to bring PC games with Xbox features into the official Xbox app blog post Wednesday.
Among the 400 titles added to the store are games from Japanese studios Kemco and Kairosoft, makers of older games like Top Gear Rally and the relatively newer Game Dev Story, respectively. Others include Shovel Knight Treasure Trove from Yacht Club and Jackbox Party Pack.
The announcement also comes with an update for Game Pass subscribers who would like to stream their games. Last month, Xbox announced that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play select games from the subscription service’s catalog remotely; now those in the Xbox Insiders community can start streaming games they own to their Xbox Series X and Xbox One consoles in the same way.
Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who are also Xbox Insiders and live in the 28 countries currently supported in the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta will be able to stream their own games, another company said blog post. Only a few games are supported for streaming, from big titles like Star Wars Outlaws, The Witcher 3, Space Marine 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3 to smaller games like Animal Well, Dredge and Kena: Bridge of Spirits – the full list can be found here.
Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings can start checking out this streaming feature today. Microsoft reiterated that players will be able to stream on Xbox consoles sometime in 2025.
