Xiaomi 15 Ultra will reportedly launch in China with these camera upgrades
Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to launch in China as part of the company’s latest flagship smartphone series. The camera and other specifications of the handset have now reportedly leaked and the device could come with an upgraded version of Sony’s LYT-900 sensor. It is also speculated to get upgrades in the selfie camera department while Xiaomi’s Camera app could also get new features. This development builds on an earlier report that had hinted at ceramic, glass and leatherette as material options for the rear panel.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra Camera Specifications (Leaked)
A SmartPrix report Xiaomi has claimed that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will come with an improved version of the Sony LYT-900 camera sensor that is found in the company’s flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra. With this, Xiaomi reportedly aims to improve the handset’s low-light performance.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is also expected to come with improvements to the Cinematic mode. While it was introduced last year, the feature was limited to 1080p. However, the report suggests that it could be upgraded to bring support for dedicated 4K video recording. A similar upgrade is also said to be coming to the slow-motion mode. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra could also feature a new 50-megapixel selfie camera, a major upgrade over the 32-megapixel camera on its predecessor.
This is possible thanks to the company’s new imaging chip and image signal processing (ISP) of the so-called Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which is expected to be launched at the Snapdragon Summit held in Hawaii from October 21 to 23.
Xiaomi is also said to be bringing upgrades to its camera app, with a new dedicated toggle for 10x zoom expected to be introduced. The app currently has five toggles for different zoom levels – 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3.2x and 5x. However, a sixth one with a 10x zoom shortcut could be added when the Xiaomi 15 Ultra launches.
