Xiaomi Pad 5 is all set to launch in India on April 27 alongside Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G. Xiaomi India has confirmed the arrival of the new tablet in the country via Twitter. The company has also shared a video on the micro-blogging platform, revealing its design. Xiaomi Pad 5 was launched globally alongside Xiaomi Smart Pen and Xiaomi 11T series in September last year. The global variant of the Xiaomi Pad 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC and offers up to 256GB of storage. The tablet comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The launch date of the company’s flagship smartphone, Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G, in India has also been set for April 27.
As a reminder, Xiaomi Pad 5 was launched in global markets, except India, with a price tag of EUR 349 (approximately Rs. 30,300) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It is priced at EUR 399 (approximately Rs. 34,600) for the 6GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. It will be offered in Cosmic Grey and Pearl White colour options. It is unclear at this point how the Xiaomi Pad 5 will be priced and positioned in the Indian market.
Xiaomi Pad 5 specifications
The Indian variant of the Xiaomi Pad 5 is likely to carry most of the specifications of the global variant. The Xiaomi Pad 5 runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 for Pad out of the box and features an 11-inch WQHD+ (1,600×2,560 pixels) TrueTone display with 120Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio. The display comes with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support. Furthermore, the tablet comes with Face Unlock support and has a split-screen functionality for multitasking.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC, along with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM as standard. For optics, it has a single 13-megapixel camera sensor on the back, along with an LED flash. For selfies, Xiaomi has included an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front with 1080p recording. The Xiaomi Pad 5 also offers up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.
Connectivity options on the Xiaomi Pad 5 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, and a USB Type-C port. The tablet is backed by an 8,720mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. It includes quad speakers with support for Dolby Atmos.
