Xiaomi’s HyperOS update coming to these phones in Q1 2024

Xiaomi had announced in October this year that it will be replacing its MIUI OS with HyperOS, ditching the older OS skin after a run of almost 13 years. The new HyperOS UI was first introduced with the Xiaomi 14 series. The company had also revealed its plans to bring the HyperOS developer version to other Xiaomi and Redmi devices in China. Now, the Chinese OEM has confirmed that the Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco models globally will be receiving the HyperOS developer version update.

In a post on X, Xiaomi confirmed that several smartphones and one tablet globally will receive the HyperOS update in Q1 2024. The company assured that those who signed up for the developer beta will receive over-the-air (OTA) updates for the stable version. The models that will receive the HyperOS skin in Q1 2024 include Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 13T, Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12S and Xiaomi Pad 6.

At the same time Poco announced that the Poco F5 will be the brand’s first model to receive the Xiaomi HyperOS update. Just like the aforementioned Xiaomi and Redmi models, eligible Poco F5 users will also receive routine OTA updates. The brand added that it will announce other models at a later date that will also receive a similar update.

HyperOS is touted as a human-centric operating system designed to seamlessly connect with personal devices, cars, and smart home products to bring users an updated smart ecosystem experience. It integrates an AI subsystem and cross-device connectivity, in addition to AI-supported enhancements to other features.

The Xiaomi 14 models, which launched in China alongside the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, were the first devices to ship with HyperOS out of the box.
