You can buy ‘air fryer pizza’ in Tesco and they are perfect for lazy cooks
AIR fryers are all the rage these days, but it can be frustrating if your food doesn’t fit in them.
While many people are forced to cut up their pizzas to squeeze them in, shoppers at Tesco have discovered a new brand specifically designed to solve the problem.
Slicey’s pizza claims to be ‘the world’s first air fryer pizza slice’ that prepares in just eight minutes.
It is available in three flavors, Margherita, Pepperoni and Diavola, and fits “perfectly” in your machine.
Food lovers are excited to see the new offerings in their local stores, while others are eager to try them for themselves.
One said: “Brilliant, I’m too lazy to cook it.”
Another added: “Quite actually Nice tbf.”
A third commented: “I got it today.”
However, one person commented: “All you have to do is cut a pizza to size.”
Slicey’s is made from a sourdough base that is double fermented at two different temperatures to ensure an even cooking texture, according to the brand.
The company shared: “Introducing Slicey, the world’s first air fryer pizza slice!
“Get ready to enjoy a delicious slice of pizza that is ready in just 8 minutes.
“Perfect for a quick snack or a late night treat, Slicey is now available at select retailers rural!
“Game-changing snack: grab yours today and take your pizza game to the next level!”
They added: “Gone are the days of preheating your oven and waiting more than 20 minutes before enjoying a pizza at home.”
Each slice is said to be made from all-natural ingredients and contains up to 15g of protein at just 440kcal.
The quick treat can be perfect for busy lunchtimes while working from home and after-school snacks.
The pizza is currently sold in Ireland, but it could expand further afield, so keep an eye out for your nearest Tesco store.
The company was founded by entrepreneur Niall McGrath, who first embarked on the Slicey journey after a family holiday in Italy where his five-year-old son drew a pizza slice character and named him Slicey, encouraging his father to make ‘Slicey’ pizzas.
He traveled around Italy tasting pizzas and spent nine months in a test kitchen outside Rome, creating sample after sample for Slicey.
How to Save Money on Pizza
TAKEAWAY pizzas taste great, but can be tough on your wallet. Here are some tips to save on pizza:
Cashback websites – TopCashback and Quidco you pay to order your pizza through them. They get paid by retailers for every click that comes from the cashback site to their website and ultimately trickles down to you. So you get cashback on orders placed through them.
Discount codes – Check sites like Voucher codes for any discount codes you can use to get money off your order.
Make your own topping – One savvy shopper noticed that Domino’s charges up to 70 cents MORE for pizzas on the menu, compared to ordering the same pizza through the “build your own” option. It’s worth trying to see if it makes a difference before placing your next order.
Buy it in stores – It may not taste exactly the same, but you’ll save the most money by picking up your favorite pizza from your local grocery store. Some Asda stores sell fresh pizzas from the pizza counter, where prices start at £2.
