Young Girl, 8, fights for life after he has been hit by a car at Hornby Heights

A young girl is in a critical condition after being hit by a car SydneyNorthern Vandaag.

Emergency services were called to Somerville Road, Hornby Heights, around 10.40 am on Sunday after reports that a pedestrian was hit by a car.

Officers affiliated with the KU-Ring-Gai Police Area Command arrived to find an 8-year-old girl on the road unconscious after he was hit by a hollow SUV.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the girl on the spot.

She was then driven to the Children’s Hospital in West Mead in a critical condition.

The driver of the SUV was not injured and taken to Hornby Hospital for mandatory tests.

The police have one crime scene and investigate the incident.

The traffic is delayed on the main road.

The police first closed the area for cars before he started passing the traffic again in the afternoon.
