Collier is an A-List stylist and the Key Opinion Leader at a UK based hair colour brand Jerome Russell Blonde.

In an interview with The US Sun, he shared methods to improve the health of your hair.

RELAXED STYLES

According to Collier, traction alopecia is a form of hair loss caused by repetitive tension on the hair, with “tight” hairstyles such as ponytails, braids or buns.

“These styles can damage the hair follicles and lead to thinning hair or bald spots,” he said.

He revealed that low-tension hairstyles are ‘crucial’ in reducing hair loss.

“Instead, opt for loose styles like soft waves or a loose, messy bun,” he said.

He recommended Jerome Russell BStyled Thickening Mousse to add volume to the hair.

“By giving the appearance of thicker hair, it helps camouflage thinning areas, boosts confidence and is gentle on the hair at the same time,” he said.

EXTENDING OILS

Collier says many of his clients have regained their confidence by using the right products to stimulate hair growth.

“Look for products that are enriched with Marula oil,” he said.

“Marula oil is excellent for hydrating and protecting hair, thanks to its high content of antioxidants and essential fatty acids.”

He said oil serums can improve hair’s vibrancy and shine, “it’s like a potion for your hair, making it look and feel healthier.”

He revealed that oil is not the only home remedy to take care of your hair health.

“Massaging the scalp with natural oils like coconut oil or castor oil can stimulate blood circulation, which promotes hair growth,” he said.

“In addition, using natural hair masks made from ingredients like eggs, yogurt and honey can provide deep care and nourishment.”

NUTRITIOUS FOODS

According to Collier, hair health is a “holistic journey,” so it’s important to combine the right products with a balanced diet.

“Products that deliver professional results while being gentle and nourishing are your best friend in this process,” he said.

“A balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals, especially biotin, vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids, can support hair growth.

“Foods like eggs, nuts, spinach and fish are excellent choices.

“Supplements can also be helpful, with biotin supplements being particularly popular for strengthening hair and promoting hair growth.”

He advised talking to a doctor or nutritionist before starting a new supplement regimen.

According to Collier, results from hair loss treatments can vary, but it typically takes six months before you see new hair growth.

“Embrace your natural hair, be patient and consult with professionals if necessary to determine a customized treatment that is best for you,” he said.

“Remember that healthy hair is beautiful hair, and taking steps to care for it is the best investment in yourself you can make.”
