YouTube now lets you ask AI chatbots questions about videos

YouTube is now rolling out a new conversational artificial intelligence (AI) feature to its users. On Tuesday, the company announced that the new tool, which allows users to ask questions about the content of a specific video, is expanding to YouTube Premium subscribers in the US. Previously available in beta, the feature will now allow more users to interact with the chatbot via a new button added below videos. The video streaming platform is also rolling out “pause ads,” or ads that play when a video is paused, to a broader user base.

YouTube collects data when a user interacts with the tool and submits a query. The company said the data is used to improve and develop products and services. A user’s conversations are automatically deleted from its servers after 45 days.
