YouTube TV scores a touchdown with custom multiview settings and a way to monitor fantasy rosters
The next NFL season officially starts on September 5, 2024, and ahead of the start date, YouTube TV has unveiled several new features primarily aimed at the American football audience.
NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers will have the ability to create their own multiview lineup, meaning you won’t be forced to choose a pre-made combination.
YouTube states that users can watch two, three or four Sunday Ticket games at once. Subscribers can also enjoy their multiview setup “on mobile devices and tablets, in addition to TVs,” so they never have to worry about missing a great game. Base Plan members will instead have to settle for hunting down multiview streams of NFL games airing on locally selected channels.

Next, fantasy football players can connect their Yahoo Fantasy account to YouTube TV via the platform’s Fantasy View feature. The announcement says users will need to visit the “Sports” tab in the account settings menu of the app on their smartphone to connect their account.
Once everything is set up, a new ‘Fantasy’ tab will appear on the YouTube TV Scores & Stats page. This tab will display your team’s players, scores, and opponent roster, among other things.
Additionally, several improvements are planned for Fantasy View. Sunday Ticket subscribers will get even more love, as they will gain unique access to the feature on tablets and web browsers later in the season.
Additionally, in a future update, fantasy football players will see “key plays and multiview combinations tailored to their… lineups.”
New design
In March, YouTube rolled out a new two-column layout for its video player. Viewers can watch a video on the left and view the comments section or channel description on the right. This same design is now being rolled out for sports content. Instead of comments, however, you’ll see live stats, scores from other games, key plays and information about your fantasy football team’s lineup.
Other notable features in the patch include a spoiler mode to hide final scores, “advanced playback controls” like Broadcast Delay to “reduce live spoilers,” and a shortcut called Jump to Last Channel, which lets you jump between channels so you don’t miss the action.
It’s not known exactly when the update will launch, other than it will be out sometime this fall. We’ve reached out for more information on this and will update this story if we hear back.
