And that’s what a beauty fan recently discovered.

The lifestyle blogger, known as @levenvancass on TikTok discovered she was using her hot hairbrush wrong, causing her hair to fall down click almost halfway.

She said, “I don’t know, but I have so much breakage.”

The TikTokker shared a video showing the breakup and it went viral with over 7.8 million views.

The young woman filmed herself pulling out a hair, which had clearly broken off.

She then showed the hot hairbrush, which she believes is the cause of the hair breakage.

In the caption of the video she went on to say, “To be honest, maybe I used it with my hair too wet?”

Her video received over 1,480 comments as many people wanted to share their opinions.

One hairstylist quickly offered help.

She wrote: “Here’s a hairstylist… you should use this when your hair is 80 percent dry and put a heat protectant on it!”

Can a new treatment called ‘hair Botox’ help you de-frizz your locks? Beauty writer Charlotte Bitmead tried it out.

Another added: “Don’t use straight oil on your hair for the heat. It will literally fry it and try the ionic heat protectant.”

A third beauty fan who also uses the same brush said: “Girl, why do I have the same breakage and use the same brush? I never thought this was it!”

To what @levenvancass replied: “I just NOW realize that this is where the damage is coming from. Hair mask ASAP!”

Someone else suggested, “Just wait until my hair is 60-80 percent dry and I’ll never have that problem again.”

No girl, don’t worry, mine was much worse, I couldn’t hide it.

A beauty fan also said: “Oh my god, two years ago this literally gave me the worst breakage, it took so long to get better.”

And the content creator responded with the question, “What did you use to restore your hair?”

To which the beauty fanatic replied: “No girl, don’t worry, mine was much worse, I couldn’t hide it.

“I just tried to turn it down a notch, used a hood at night and switched to a regular blow dryer with an attachment and used my paddle brush.

Hot hair brush usage guide to ensure protection

Using a hot hairbrush can be an effective way to style your hair. It gives volume and smoothness.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use it:

Start with clean, dry hair: Start with clean, dry hair. If your hair is damp, make sure it is 80 percent dry and detangled.

Apply heat protectant: Before using a heated styling tool, apply a heat protection spray to your hair to prevent heat damage.

Divide your hair into sections: Divide your hair into manageable sections using clips. This will help you style each section more effectively.

Preheat the brush: Plug in your hot hairbrush and let it preheat. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for the correct temperature setting for your hair type.

Brush through hair: Take a section of your hair and place the hot hairbrush at the roots. Slowly move the brush down the length of your hair. For extra volume, you can lift the hair at the roots.

Style as desired: You can use the hot hair brush to create different styles, such as straightening, adding waves or creating curls. To curl, wrap a section of your hair around the brush and hold for a few seconds before releasing.

Finish with a Cool Shot: If your hot hair brush has a cool shot function, you can use it to style your hair and add shine.

Applying finishing products: Once you’ve achieved the desired result, apply a finishing product, such as a light hairspray or serum, to keep your hairstyle in place.

For specific instructions, you can always refer to the user manual that came with your hot hair brush.

“And kept it hydrated like serum or a little oil. It will get better baby!”

But not everyone has experienced problems, as one wrote: “Not mine!

“I have been using it for years and my hair is still as healthy and silky soft.

“Always make sure you apply a GOOD heat resistant layer first.”

And another said: “The best brush ever!”

The 4 Phases of the Hair Growth Cycle

Hair experts at Philip Kingsley shared the four stages of the hair growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen

Anagen phase:Also called the ‘growth phase’ or ‘active phase’, is the phase in which the cells in the hair root divide most rapidly, causing more new hair to be formed.

During the Anagen Phase, hair grows about half an inch per month [about six inches a year]and faster in summer than in winter.

This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.

Catagen phase:After the anagen phase, your hair cycle enters a short transition phase called the catagen phase. This phase marks the end of active hair growth and separates individual hairs from the blood supply and the cells that produce new hair.

About three percent of all hairs are in this stage at any one time and it lasts about 10 days.

Telogen phase:The third phase of your natural hair growth cycle is the telogen phase, a resting period during which hairs remain in their follicles but are not actively growing.

It is estimated that 10-15 percent of your hair is in the telogen phase at any given time.

The telogen phase lasts about three months or 100 days.

Exogenous phase:The final stage of the hair growth cycle, when individual hair strands release from their follicles and fall out.

Now the whole process starts again.
