Zoom has a new way to help you handle all those boring business tasks
Zoom has announced a new AI feature that streamlines routine tasks and increases efficiency for employees working on mundane administrative projects.
With the introduction of Workflow Automation on Zoom Workplace, the video conferencing giant hopes that employees can focus on more meaningful work, leaving them more time to address the ongoing skills shortage.
Workflow Automation is integrated into Zoom Team Chat and enables users to create complex workflows across Zoom Workplace and third-party applications using generative AI.
Zoom Workflow Automation to Free Up Employee Time
Key features of Workflow Automation include increased productivity, simplified workflows, and an easy-to-use, no-code solution with pre-built templates for everyday tasks such as onboarding and approval processes.
“Workflow automation helps teams take the guesswork out of setting up workflows and helps reduce tedious and repetitive tasks,” said Wei Li, Head of Zoom Team Chat at Zoom.
Users can set up sequential, conditional, or switch-based workflows, allowing them to automate different paths and outcomes. According to the company, this will speed up response times and ensure efficient query handling.
While workflows are designed to optimize efficiency, they can be complex to set up and maintain, often requiring skilled workers. Recognizing that corporate budgets are tight and talent acquisition has become more difficult, the tool uses a no-code approach, making it easier for less tech-savvy team members to use.
Zoom has also committed to rolling out more templates over time as it learns what businesses want.
Zoom Workflow Automation is currently in beta and available to eligible paying Zoom customers at no additional cost. Once generally available, paid plans will include unlimited standard workflow runs and a fixed allotment of premium runs.
