Halle Bailey, Andra Day and Taraji P. Henson are luminous with showbiz glamour as they lead star-studded red carpet at NAACP Image Awards

Halle Bailey, Andra Day and Taraji P. Henson led a cavalcade of bombshells who sauntered down the red carpet at this year’s star-studded edition of the NAACP Image Awards.

Thrown at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Saturday, the glittering awards show welcomed an impressive array of top-flight luminaries from all walks of showbiz. 

For her latest public appearance, Taraji cut a showstopping figure in a pale green frock that featured sparkly flower petal adornments over her bust and her enviably taut midriff.

The acclaimed film star, who is nominated for best supporting actress in a motion picture for her turn in The Color Purple, shot the cameras an enigmatic look.

Slicking her hair down in a fashion forward flourish, she accentuated the ensemble with a choker that complemented the silver clutch she held in her right hand. 

Halle, who is nominated both for lead actress in a film via The Little Mermaid and supporting actress in a film via The Color Purple, was luminous with showbiz glamour on the red carpet.

She draped her lithe frame in a slinky green dress that gleamed blindingly under the lights as she swanned acros the red carpet ahead of the celebrity-strewn ceremony.

Her eye-catching ensemble featured pleating over the bust that simultaneously resembled rose petals and a pair of eyes, and the waistline was cinched in to emphasize her petite frame.

She cut a loved-up figure in front of the cameras in front of her longtime boyfriend DDG, with whom she welcomed her firstborn child in January – a bouncing baby boy called Halo. 

Andra, who achieved new levels of prominence for her Oscar-nominated turn as Billie Holiday a few years ago, was retro chic in an electric blue split gown with opera gloves and a feathered cape.

Flashing one of her statuesque legs through the thigh-slit of her dress, she lent herself a bit of added stature by balancing expertly on a purple pair of towering stilettos. 

Jonathan Majors, who last year was convicted of misdemeanor third-degree assault of one of his ex-girlfriends, attended the awards show with his current girlfriend Meagan Good, who stood by him through the trial.

Usher, the recipient of Saturday evening’s coveted President’s Award, held hands with his third and latest wife Jennifer Goicoechea just weeks after news broke of their Las Vegas marriage.

Idris Elba was the image of suavity as he sizzled up a storm on the arm of his wife Sabrina, proving once again why he has been trailed by James Bond casting rumors for years.

Naturi Noughton draped her hourglass frame in a deep gold frock, while John Boyega channeled a retro detective in oversized pinstripes and Octavia Spencer put a jazzy spin on corporate style in a sparkly trouser suit.

Sheryl Lee Ralph of Abbott Elementary opted for mermaid chic in a fluttering green mesh number, Deon Cole plumped for a quirkily short-sleeved suit and Tichina Arnold wore a look that plunged to hint at her svelte midriff.

June Ambrose swathed her willowy figure in a sumptuously voluminous monochrome floral gown as she attended the fete on the arm of her besuited husband Marc Chamblin.

Eva Marcille rocked a cutoff top that emphasized her lithe frame, MC Lyte cut a leggy figure in an asymmetric wine-colored look and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor lent herself an aristocratic air in an extravagant cape.

Vivica A. Fox was agelessly exuberant at the age of 59, swanking about in a tantalizingly sheer floral trouser suit that clung to her curves and flaunted her ample endowments. 

Caroline Wanga was festooned with beads for her latest red carpet appearance, while Misty Copeland amplified the impact of her dancer’s legs in high-waisted slacks and Amanda Gorman wore a sequined smock-like frock.

Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, Bobby Brown and Ronnie DeVoe of New Edition enjoyed a red carpet moment as they gathered together for a group shot at the awards show.

Damson Idris exuded a classic glamour in a midnight blue tuxedo with black lapels, while Robin Thede went for Vegas glitz in a sparkly gown with a feathery waistline and Nathalie Emmanuel slid into a mesmerizing nude gown.

A number of couples turned the awards show into an opportunity for a date night, including This Is Us heartthrob Sterling K. Brown, who walked the red carpet hand in hand with his wife Ryan Michelle Bathe.

Annie Ilonzeh radiated an ethereal grace in an aquamarine frock, Claudia Jordan struck a dominant pose in a tie-dye sequined gown and Chante Moore swanked about in a dazzling multicolored look.

Mark Wahlberg’s sizzling, hunk-tastic brother Donnie modeled a tuxedo with a jacket that appeared to be either velvet or velour as he swung by the awards show stag, absent his wife Jenny McCarthy.

Erika Alexander made her presence felt in a hot pink skirt splashed with a flamingo motif, Leslie Jones put her cleavage on display and Lisa Ann Walter complemented her flaming red locks with a moss green outfit.

Keke Palmer channeled Marlene Dietrich in a mismatch tuxedo – white coat, black trousers – complete with a large red rose in her lapel and a cummerbund. 

Among the couples aglow with romantic bliss on the red carpet were Jazmyn Simon and her steamy husband Dulé Hill, as well as Lil Rel Howery and his fiancée Dannella Lane.

Kerry Washington was the image of Old Hollywood elegance in a floor-length olive green gown that featured a stylishly small train as well as a sash that flowed back into an extravagantly long cape.
