He sat close to two colleagues in an image she said violated his social distancing guidelines.

“Do you think that’s appropriate…Mr. Fauci, just because you’re not a doctor in my few minutes… that man doesn’t deserve a license. In fact, it should be revoked and he belongs in jail,” Greene said.

“We should recommend that you be prosecuted… for crimes against humanity,” the Georgia Republican continued.

Freshman Democrat Robert Garcia blasted Greene for her “ridiculous” attacks on Fauci.

He says this has been the most unruly conference in his year and a half in Congress.

Fauci grew emotional as he detailed the death threats against him and his children, while also insisting that taxpayer money was not used for risky job gain research in China and that he never used personal email for “official business.”

His admission came as a surprise to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, which has now spent more than a year trying to determine the origins of the pandemic that has killed more than a million Americans and millions more worldwide.

The snap hearing was briefly delayed when Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., asked Fauci about the personal toll his role on the White House Coronavirus Taskforce was taking on him.

“Myself and my three daughters have received credible death threats, which have led to the arrest of several individuals,” he said. “Credible death threats mean someone who was clearly on their way to murder.”

“It’s very difficult for me,” he continued. “It’s even more difficult because my wife is involved.”
