Alan Jones has made a staggering profit after selling his lavish South Brisbane apartment for $1.35 million.

The former radio broadcaster, 82, bought the two-bedroom Lower River Terrace property in 1987 for $200,000, according to reports.

Thirty-six years after purchasing, Alan has made a huge profit on the two-storey, 1,900 sq ft investment unit after reportedly selling it for $1.35 million last year.

The impressive unit features a bright and modern white-tiled living room, with large sliding doors leading out to a covered balcony with picturesque city views.

The open plan downstairs area also has a breakfast bar that separates the sleek kitchen, fitted with gloss white cabinetry.

The unit also has a modern bathroom with a shower and bath, while there is also a second bedroom, perfect for guests.

Furthermore, there is a study or office space on the ground floor and a separate toilet and laundry room, as well as a parking garage on the lower floor.

The beautiful building also includes an outdoor swimming pool and a full-size tennis court among its luxurious amenities.

Alan retired from hosting 2GB's radio breakfast show in May 2020, after 35 years of dominating the city's airwaves and winning 226 consecutive ratings.

He retired on medical advice after decades of waking up at 2.30am on a mission to dominate the radio ratings on both 2UE and 2GB.

As he bid farewell to his listeners as he left, he read a poem by Robert Lee Sharpe and said, “Forever together in spirit, but for now goodbye.

“All the best to everyone out there, thanks for your company and we'll see you somewhere, I'm sure.”
