But Alex Beresford enjoyed a well-deserved break over the festive period when he flew to Australia for a relaxing beach holiday.

The weather presenter, 43, took to Instagram to share photos of his shirtless physique as he made the most of the warm December weather.

Heading to the ocean for a dip, Alex showed off his toned torso as he relaxed in the warm sun with a friend.

He captioned his post: “My first Christmas in the summer! Adapting and embracing it the Aussie Way. I wish you all a Merry Christmas, wherever you are.’

Alex celebrated his one-year engagement anniversary earlier this year.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, who married Imogen McKay in October after they started dating in August 2020, shared a series of sweet throwback snaps.

The photos include a loving photo of the couple on holiday in Deia, Mallorca, after his proposal on New Year’s Day last year, a close-up of the ring and a cheerful photo of the newlyweds after their wedding.

Alex and Imogen started dating in August 2020 after a mutual friend set them up on a blind date.

He told HELLO! magazine: ‘I had been single for a while and was ready for a new relationship. But I was convinced I didn’t want to try a dating website.

“I’m at an age where, before social media, you would meet a girl, write down her phone number and call her to invite her out.”

He explained that he asked a friend if she knew anyone he would get along with, to which she replied, “Yes, but she’s way too good for you.”

The host said he laughed along and told her, “She’s the one I want!”

Alex celebrated his one-year engagement anniversary earlier this year after tying the knot with his wife Imogen in October 2022.

Looking back on the beginning of their relationship, he said: “We hit it off from the start. We talked every day about our shared values ​​and goals, and our love for our families. We’ve always been on the same page.”

Imogen grew up in Australia and works in e-commerce operations for a top restaurant in London.

She revealed that she had never seen Beresford on television before meeting him and did not watch him beforehand because she wanted to know what he was like for herself.

Recalling their first date in Bristol, where Beresford lives, she said: ‘When we met it felt like we had known each other for ages. Holding hands and laughing together came naturally.’

The couple had a long-distance relationship between Bristol and London before their engagement.
