AN Amazon Fire TV Stick owner has praised a “great tip” to boost the speed of his device.
The trick is simple and some users may have missed or overlooked it.
But according to someone writing on Reddit, the little-known setting is great when the Amazon Fire TV Stick starts to get a little “fussy.”
So if yours has become laggy and sluggish, it might be worth a try.
Reddit user OgniDee recommends performing this hack every month for an instant refresh.
“I also realize that I may have to restart the whole thing once a month if it gets “fussy,” they explained.
The setting in question is the restart button.
It is not to be confused with the “reset” option which completely removes your Amazon Fire TV Stick from all apps and files.
Rebooting is essentially restarting, so everything on the device remains.
“I usually just let it go to sleep mode when I'm done watching,” OgniDee continued.
But I've noticed that every now and then it starts to get slow and hangy, so I go to “My Firestick” in the Settings and restart it.
“It seems like it's running smoother. Restarting doesn't delete any APKs or settings like a factory reset would.
“It just seems to help every now and then.”
Fellow Reddit user Kresbok responded, saying it's a “great tip.”
“Thank you so much for sharing this!” they said.
“I saw that option on the menu, but I didn't know what for.”
