It was revealed after a frustrated user started a Reddit thread complaining that he was having trouble setting up his Fire TV Stick.

“I'm currently installing four Fire TV sticks throughout the house with two Fire TV profiles and ran into a few annoying issues,” they say wrote.

They gave a numerical list of problems they faced and problem number four attracted some attention in the responses.

“I also set it so that the screen saver start time is never. I think this means the screen saver will never go to sleep.

“No, it just means he falls asleep without a screensaver,” the frustrated user complained.

“There are ways around number 4 that another member wrote a tutorial.

“It's very simple and without it you're stuck with the screensaver settings you have now,” someone replied.

“Thanks! I'll look into this,” the frustrated user replied.

'You can never turn it off unless you unplug the power adapter. If you want, you can set some kind of switch for that.'

Amazon Fire Stick owners have discovered a neat trick to control their TVs

Technically, there is no official way to prevent your Amazon Fire TV Stick from going into sleep mode.

This feature is in high demand and has been discussed on Amazon's own help forum.

The official answer was: “Currently there is no option to disable this mode.

“To send us feedback from your Fire TV Stick 4K, go to Settings > Help > Feedback. Or send us an email: firetvstick-feedback-us@amazon.com”

However, several YouTube videos reveal a trick that involves going into developer mode and editing your TV settings using computer coding.

This video self study is praised, but is quite complicated for the average person.

If you'd rather avoid hacking the TV in developer mode, using the official screensaver options may be your only choice.

You can go to your Settings and choose whether the screensaver will never appear or after five, 10, or 15 minutes of inactivity.

After 20 minutes, your Amazon Fire TV Stick will go into sleep mode if you haven't used it in that time.
