The Princess Diaries star added height to her look with black leather high-heeled boots.

She carried a black Hermes bag with a horse charm on her arm. The stylish beauty shielded her eyes with tortoise-rimmed sunglasses.

Set in the frigid Boston of the 1960s, Eileen follows Eileen (McKenzie), who shuffles between her father’s emotionally haunted house and the prison where she works with colleagues who have locked her out.

Hathaway plays Rebecca St. John, described as “an intoxicating woman” who joins the staff and Eileen becomes increasingly interested in her.

Hathaway looked almost unrecognizable in the film’s first trailer, which was released last month.

In the clip, she wears a retro blonde wig as she plays a prison psychologist who involves a young secretary in a rocky relationship.

The trailer opens with Eileen petting the staff at her prison and staring at an attractive inmate.

The character then tells her father that she experienced “one of those days you never forget” before seeing Rebecca, played by Hathaway, for the first time.

Eileen and Rebecca immediately bond after the psychologist is introduced to the prison staff, and after McKenzie’s character is introduced to cigarettes, the latter says ominously, “I live a little differently than most people.”

After Hathaway’s character develops a close relationship with the secretary, she places her hand on his thigh before they dance together during a trip to a bar.

Eileen later tries to leave Rebecca’s house before the latter slams the front door and says ominously, “You can never tell anyone, you know?” Promise me.’

The secretary’s father, played by Wigham, then states that he could imagine his daughter with a gun. She points one to Rebecca, who calmly remarks, “That’s very good, Eileen.”

Wigham then tells his daughter that she is “different these days.” Almost interesting.’

A quick montage then follows, ending with Rebecca locking lips with Eileen before noting, “The only way out is for someone to die.”

The trailer ends after Hathaway’s character opens a bottle of wine by slamming the bottom of it against a wall, much to the secretary’s surprise.

Eileen is based on the 2015 novel of the same name, written by Ottessa Moshfegh, who also wrote the script with her husband Luke Goebel.
