Ashy Bines did a good deed this week, but it didn’t go according to plan.

The fitness influencer offered her Christmas tree to Queensland flood victims.

‘Is there a family that lost their Christmas tree in the storm this year? If so, I’d love to gift you ours,” the 33-year-old wrote on Instagram Stories.

Outspoken The Podcast was quick to share the offer on their own page, but was left underwhelmed.

‘We are certainly being deceived. “I don’t think this is a good deed,” they captioned the image.

‘I’m all for recycling, but this poor tree has seen better days. I don’t think it cheers anyone up.’

Queenslanders have had a tough time as heavy rain lashes the region.

Intense rain, thunderstorms and large hail lashed parts of Australia’s east coast on Monday, caused by a massive storm front stretching 500km across the southeast.

The region is set to get wet again on Tuesday, with the Bureau of Meteorology warning the forecast is ‘dangerous’ for residents.

Heavy and widespread rainfall will continue from Gympie to the NSW border, raising fears of ‘life-threatening flash flooding’.

Ashy faced controversy earlier this year when she was accused of withholding customer receipts from her upcoming warehouse sale.

She recently promoted a sale of products from her loungewear and activewear brand Baseline, which was held on May 6 and 7 last year.

Alongside the notice, a list of items was posted online: ‘Visa, Mastercard, Debit, Apple Pay and cash accepted. No receipts, refunds or exchanges – all sales are final.’

Instagram watchdog account influencertea_aus posted a screenshot of this notice and questioned the legality of selling clothes without receipts.

In response to these questions, the price list was re-uploaded to Bines’ Instagram Stories a few hours later, with the added clarification: ‘Receipts can be given via email. Just no papers.’
