The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay and her husband Bryan Abasol are over.

On Tuesday it was claimed by Page six that the 43-year-old chiropractor filed for divorce from the 38-year-old reality TV star.

In the court documents, he reportedly stated that they parted ways on December 31, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the union’s breakup.

Bryan also asks for spousal support. They have no children together.

She met Bryan during season 13 of the reality TV show The Bachelorette in 2017, after which they became engaged after he received the final rose; the couple married in 2019 in Cancun, Mexico.

The news comes just a few weeks after Lindsay said on a podcast that they have been living “completely different lives.” She said the problem was their very different careers, as he works up to 12 hours a day while she has more free time.

This is quite a change from what she said in July 2023.

Lindsay says she hoped to try to get pregnant within a few months.

She also noted that Abasol “would love to have twins.”

The star admitted that she is ready to start a family and “take a step back” from work.

Speaking with DailyMail.com’s Russ Weakland at Project Angel Food’s fourth annual Lead With Love Fundraiser in Los Angeles, Rachel talked about her big plans for the year ahead.

“I’m trying to take a step back and not work as much as I leave 2023 behind – and go into 2024 with something new,” she explained.

She told DailyMail.com: ‘I would like to try for a child. I would like to have a child. That’s something new for 2023, hopefully that will happen in 2024.’

When asked if she would prefer a boy or a girl, or even twins, Rachel laughed: “Twins! No, don’t do that to me, don’t do that to twins. My husband Bryan would love to have twins,” before adding, “Me? I’ll take one at a time!’

Rachel confirmed she would like to have multiple children, saying: ‘I’m 38, so as many as I can have after 30. That’s my 2024.’

Rachel’s book, Real Love: A Novel, was published earlier this year and she is keen to write more in the future.

“I really want to create more, so I would love to see my book turned into a TV series or movie,” she revealed.

“I’d like to tap into my other love, which is true crime. “I realize that to have stability in this industry you have to be able to create, so I want to do more of that,” she added.

When she’s not writing, Rachel is a correspondent for Extra and co-host of the Higher Learning podcast alongside Van Lathan.

She hosted the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast but decided to stop in April 2021.

Rachel announced her departure during one of the episodes, saying, “I’m going to make it short and sweet: all good things come to an end and I feel like certain things run their course and for me, I took my course when it is about the podcast.’

Rachel explained that her decision to leave was down to her mental health.

“For me, I’ve had a hard time, that’s no secret,” Lindsay said.

“And it’s been really, really hard for me lately and a lot of the things we talk about in this podcast are also about taking care of yourself and finding your peace and protecting that peace and protecting your mental health.

“And so for me, I feel like I’ve come to the end of doing the podcast and I’m happy to be leaving on a high note, where it’s the 100th episode, it’s such a big milestone.

‘This is the first podcast I’ve ever done and for me it’s just a step further. You should never say never.

‘I certainly close the door, but I don’t lock it and throw away the key. It’s just that, for me, I have to walk away. And I feel like this podcast is in great hands with you.

‘For you, I just feel like this is in a place where I can walk away and I know it’s all good and I know it’s going to be great and you’ve given me the space to step away when I needed to and I was listening to the podcast on the side and I was like, “Oh, she’s got this,” and to me it’s like, you can walk away now, I can walk away.

“I’m doing some other things, I’m sure I’ll stop by every now and then to say hi,” she added.

Rachel has never shied away from expressing her frustrations with the Bachelor franchise since becoming the first-ever Black Bachelorette in 2017.

She first found fame in Bachelor Nation as a contestant on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor, where she got first impressions and placed third.

The fan favorite soon after made history as the show’s first-ever Black lead when she was named the next Bachelorette.
