Balenciaga’s £3,650 ‘hybrid’ coat consists of two coats sewn together – but you can make the same product using Primark items for just £57

Balenciaga is making an unusual fashion statement with its latest offering – a garment made from two jackets stitched together – priced at £3,650.

There is a full-length beige mac in the front and a smaller, faded denim jacket in the back.

The trendy fashion house has launched it as part of the spring 2024 collection.

It is designed to have ‘multiple styling options’.

But a model is advertised wearing the smaller jacket and the long jacket that flaps in the front like an apron.

A similar looking denim jacket can be purchased from Primark for just £17.

Cheap clothing retailer High Street has a cream coat that looks the same for £40.

The Primark look – £57 in total – is £3,593 cheaper.

It comes after Balenciaga was ridiculed last week for his £695 skirt, which looked like a towel.

The product description of the Hybrid Carcoat in beige cotton drill and blue denim reads: ‘Oversize fit.

‘Two fabric panels mounted together, multiple styling options.

‘Car coat in the front, denim jacket in the back.

Meanwhile, eagle-eyed fashion fans have spotted that you can make a similar version by picking up the parts from Primark, like this denim jacket which costs £17.
