Bringing in the big money? Over the years the Below deck franchise cast has been coy about their earnings, offering only a small glimpse of the money they’ll take home.
The popular Bravo series, which debuted in 2013 and has included several spinoffs, follows the lives of crew members who work and live on superyachts during charter season. The cast earns money by working on the boat, supplemented with tips from guests and their involvement in the reality series.
In May 2022, Eddie Lucas sparked a conversation about paychecks when he revealed he won’t be back for season 10 of Below deck after appearing in six seasons.
“I was not invited to play another season,” the first officer told police New York Post in May 2022. “I actually didn’t even get a call from them that they had hired someone else – which shows what the production is all about. Everyone on Below deck is replaceable.”
The Maryland native also talked about the ups and downs of working on deck and filming at the same time. “Someone is making money from the show, but it’s definitely not us,” he noted. “Below deck – despite being the most popular show on Bravo – we are the lowest paid cast members.
It was difficult for the Bravo personality to understand why his salary didn’t reflect the hard work he put in every season. “Although we get paid better than a normal sailor, we still obviously don’t get paid what people like the Housewives earn, which is a bit frustrating because they don’t really work – they just go out to eat and fight,” he added at the time.

Executive producer Jill Goslicky, who is working on it Below deck sailing yacht, it previously appeared that the crew members do not earn money from one direct source. “They get paid in a few different ways,” Goslicky wrote via Reddit in March 2021. “They do get a salary because they are hired as part of the yacht crew, they get to keep their tips and they also get a production allowance. .”
Goslicky also noted that guests are ‘actually paying for their holiday’, even though it has been confirmed that there is a discount for people who agree to film their time on the boat for Below deck.
