Biden vs. Trump will be the OLDEST election in the US, with everyone old enough to be Sunak’s grandpa… marking a ‘toxic’ fight for Britain

AMERICANS are bracing themselves for yet another rematch between an ‘awkward’ Joe Biden and a ‘dangerous’ Donald Trump.

With Trump, 77, storming ahead in the Republican primariesthe US will witness the dueling pair – both old enough to be Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s grandfather – wield their swords again.

If Trump does indeed lose to Biden, we could see a repeat of the 2021 Capitol Hill riots — especially if he refuses to accept the election results again, the experts said.

But experts fear that there will be another rematch between Trump and… BidenThe 81-year-old president will see violence erupt on the streets again — as the world saw with the Capitol Hill riots in 2021 — and America “moving ever closer to civil war.”

It will be the most “toxic, violent and brutal” presidential election in modern America historyexperts told The Sun, with both candidates trying to convince the public that they are the “least bad option”.

Alan Mendoza, the executive director of the Henry Jackson Society think tank, told The Sun: “It will be nasty, brutal and long. We’ll have months of them tearing each other apart.

“We’re going to see one race to the bottom line, with these two trying to convince the audience that they are the least worst option available.

Mendoza warned that if the election turns “really nasty,” both candidates could become victims of death threats.

“And there will be a fear that someone might try to launch an attack on one of them during a presidential campaign,” Mendoza said.

TOXIC BATTLE

Professor Anthony Glees, a security expert from the University of Buckingham, told The Sun that a rematch between Trump and Biden would be “the most toxic presidential election in modern times”.

Glees said a key factor in the presidential campaign — and in the minds of all Americans — is that Trump and Biden’s combined age is 158.

Trump will use the fact that Biden is four years older than him – and his embarrassing blunders – as ammunition for his campaign and try to use it to his advantage, he added.

I ran for president in 2020 – this year will be the ‘ugliest election we’ve ever had’ and this could change our entire system –

Glees said: “Trump’s charisma fits so well with the television scenes – his orange face, his hairdryer her. All this has a huge impact.

“And that will be compared to a very, very old Biden with a frozen face and all the difficulties that come with his age.”

Mendoza agrees, saying Trump will try to weaponize Biden’s older age — but not without the current president fighting back.

He said: “Biden comes across as quite unreliable. So Trump’s main argument will be that Biden has lost it and is over it, while Biden’s argument will be: ‘Trump is not healthy either’.

“It will be a very toxic race. They will laugh at each other until the presidential election.”

And those personal attacks have already started. Today, Trump labeled Biden the worst president in American history while promising to take back the country.

Trump has stormed to victory in the Republican primaries and left his rival Nikki Haley’s campaign in tatters, meaning the former president is all but confirmed as the party’s presidential nominee.

Haley today officially suspended her presidential campaign while refusing to support Trump.

Glees said Trump will be on a “crusade” to win the presidential election – four years after he falsely claimed Biden “stole” the election without providing evidence.

The former president will travel in his prized $100 million Trump Force One against the same backdrop and in the same tight-knit circle.

Glees said: “Trump’s campaign will be so different from what Biden and the Democrats have in mind.

“It will look like a revivalist meeting with a cult leader who can do no wrong,” Glees said, pointing to the unwavering support Trump has received from his supporters despite facing 91 charges in four separate cases.

KEY DATES IN THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE

Here are the key dates in the US presidential race to watch.

12 March: Primaries held in the states of Georgia, Mississippi and Washington

March 19: Primaries held in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Kansas and Ohio

July 15-18: Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where the party formally chooses its candidate.

August 19-21: Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where the party formally chooses its candidate.

November 5: ELECTION DAY

6 January: INAUGURATION

AMERICA FIRST

And if Trump wins, the consequences will extend across the Atlantic to Britain.

Glees said. “For us here in Britain, the consequences of a Trump presidency are dire because of his America-first crusade.

“All he’s interested in is domestic policy and making it money. These kinds of populist crusades at home mean that we in Europe and the West will feel much less safe.”

Glees pointed out the way Trump said this Brexit voting was a ‘great’ idea, but ‘didn’t lift a little finger’ to get that all-important US-Britain free trade deal done.

He explained, “And he won’t do it if he’s re-elected this year because he puts America first.

Glees said something like Vladimir Putin And Xi Jinping will be “lucky” if Trump is elected, given his lack of support for NATO.

He explained that if Trump is elected, it would weaken NATO and make Europe vulnerable to a Russian attack.

Glees said: “Above all, in Europe we face a security threat from a resurgent Putin who is about to be re-elected.

“And I think that’s the real danger right now: that Eastern Europe will be overrun or threatened by the Russians to such an extent that NATO will begin to fall apart.

“And as we know, Trump himself has no interest in a NATO that does not pay its 2%.”

VIOLENCE ON THE STREETS

For those in the US, a Trump victory could have devastating consequences as “Democrats will not let this slide,” Glees said.

But if Trump does indeed lose to Biden, we could see a repeat of the 2021 Capitol Hill riots — especially if he again refuses to accept the election results, the experts said.

Glees said: “The possibility of civil war in America has come closer. Trump refuses to accept that he lost the 2020 election. Will he and his followers accept the outcome if he loses in 2024?

“People may feel like we haven’t seen anything yet.”

Mendoza said that if Trump wins, Americans could see far-left Antifa thugs take to the streets and ignite violent protests.
