BioCeuticals Zinc Drops 50ml recalled from Chemist Warehouse and Priceline
One of Australia’s largest healthcare companies has recalled a popular supplement after it was found to provide different doses.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration on Tuesday announced the recall of two 50-ml batches of zinc drops from FIT-BioCeuticals.
The TGA warned that the zinc can separate from the rest of the vanilla-flavored liquid over time, leading to inconsistent dosing.
The medicines watchdog urged users to check for the affected batch numbers 004766 or 004807, printed below the instructions for use.
Those with affected products have been told not to use the supplement as it can cause serious health problems.

“If you use BioCeuticals zinc drops from affected batches and experience nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, or headache, seek medical attention immediately,” the recall warning reads.
The TGA warning also urges customers to ‘rreturn the product to the place of purchase for a refund’.
In moderation, zinc can promote cell growth and division, produce DNA and proteins and strengthen the immune system.
However, if a large dose of the mineral is taken in a short period of time, zinc poisoning can take effect and cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea or headache.
Those who exhibit symptoms of zinc poisoning are urged to seek urgent medical attention as serious health problems can occur if zinc poisoning is not treated.
