Britain weather: exact time and location snow will start to fall as Brits brace for heavy wind and rain… but the sun is on the way

BRITISH people have been warned about the exact time snow will fall in just hours, as strong storms and more rain hit Britain.

The Met Office predicts snow will fall in some areas overnight, but temperatures of 18 degrees are expected later in the week.

The white stuff is expected to arrive in the Scottish highlandstomorrow around 1 o’clock near Fort William.

More snow and hail is forecast to fall by 7am, which could cause some travel disruption for commuters.

Met Office meteorologists predict it will continue until around midday, after which a band of heavy rain will move eastwards across the country.

Today’s forecast for much of Britain is off to a “stormy, cloudy, rainy” start for many.

But as the day progresses, there are increasingly clear skies and sunny spells on the horizon.

Met Office meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: ‘There is quite a bit of rain across the map, but the far south-east is largely dry.

“It’s going to be very windy in the far northwest, with heavy showers moving across the country from west to east.”

The worst affected areas for rain will be Scotlandnorthern Englandparts of the Midlands and East Anglia.

However, sunny spells and drier weather are forecast in the south, with temperatures rising to 16 degrees Celsius.

By the end of today another round of heavy rain will move across the south west coast into central and southern England, as well as Northern Ireland And Wales.

Temperatures will cool overnight, with some in northern Scotland waking up to frost.

Tomorrow, figures could reach a possible high of 18 degrees Celsius in London and remain in double figures across the UK, with lows of 10 degrees Celsius in the Scottish Highlands.

A Met Office spokesperson told The Sun: “We are currently experiencing above average temperatures.

“Temperatures will cool by the weekend with the arrival of colder conditions from the north.

“Temperatures for the middle of this week will reach 18 degrees Celsius in some places, dropping to single digits in the north or 13 degrees Celsius in the south on Friday.”

The weather forecast remains “changeable” on Thursday with a mix of sunny spells and occasional rain.

More “stormy showers” and stronger winds are planned towards the end of the week.

According to the Met Office;

Today

Cloud and some rain will continue to move south-easterly across England and Wales, clearing during the afternoon. Furthermore, a lot of dry weather with some sunshine. Mostly mild and the wind will decrease during the day.

This evening

Any showers will gradually decrease, but it will become cloudy in the southwest while the rain moves northeast overnight. It will remain dry with clear spells in Scotland and frost nationwide. Mild elsewhere.

Wednesday

Outbreaks of rain will move eastwards in central areas on Wednesday. Dry elsewhere with some showers in the far north. Temperatures closer to average, but mild in the southeast.

Outlook for Thursday through Saturday

Thursday will remain changeable with occasional rain showers, alternating with some clear spells. Later the wind will blow harder and on Friday and Saturday it will be colder with sunshine and some showers.
