Bursting a bit makes people more honest, say technicians.

They surveyed 200 men and women entering and leaving a public toilet.

Everyone was asked how much they wanted to go, and then they were asked to complete a dice test that measures lying and cheating.

Those who left the toilets completed the same test – and were found to be 12 percent more likely to cheat.

The discovery suggests that banning trips to the toilet during exams will help prevent cheating.

And scientists say it's good business practice to make people wait in the bathroom before making a deal.

Experts believe that the self-control that people with full bladders need to hold their bladders also reduces the urge to lie.

Professor Gideon Yaniv, from Tel-Hai College in Israel, said people must exercise self-control to avoid benefiting from dishonesty.

He added: “So when you control your urge to go to the toilet, your attempts at self-control spill over into other behaviors you are engaging in.

“Restraining the urge to urinate helps curb dishonest behavior when opportunities to cheat simultaneously arise.”

Experts say their findings support a ban on grooming people – to prevent lying or other deceitful behavior.

They added: “Many universities ban students from using the toilet during written exams, suspecting they might cheat or get outside help.”
