CHOCOLATE addicts have been dealt a blow by Cadbury this week after confirming that a classic treat will stay off store shelves for good.

The old-fashioned treat was highlighted by a customer who asked the company if it would ever return – and was politely told no.

Replying to a customer named Sarah on X (formerly Twitter), they told her there are “no plans” to bring back the Cadbury Spira.

They said, “Hi Sarah, we have no plans to bring Spira back, but we have lots of other chocolatey treats to try.”

The news to come has delivered an emotional blow to the hearts of retro chocolate bar lovers – who always hope to see their favorite classics back in supermarkets – especially as Easter approaches.

Sarah isn't the only one who wants the Spira to make a sparkling return, as a second person – Chris – felt the same way.

In a message that reads: “What is something from the past that we should bring back.”

And Chris simply replied with: “Cadbury's Spira.”

While a third, Simon, said: “Cadbury Spira and Fuse were next level.”

The classic bar was first made available to Brits in the North West and South West of England, but quickly became a hit in stores across the UK in 1989.

Sadly, the treat's popularity became its downfall when it was discontinued in 2005 when it became too difficult for the legendary chocolate brand to meet demand.

The news shocked Cadbury fiends across Britain as they discovered the treat would be disappearing from their shopping baskets for good.

ICONIC CHOCOLATES THAT HAVE LEFT THE SHELVES

Cadbury's Dream chocolate bar: The popular bar closed in 2002, but was relaunched in 2019 under the new name 'Cadbury White'.

Mars Delight bar: Although it proved to be a firm favorite among sweet-tooth fans during its four-year run in stores from 2004, it was pulled from store shelves in 2008. Fans are still eager to see the treat return.

Nestlé's Caramac chocolate bar: The unique bar had been in stores for more than sixty years, but was discontinued last year due to continued sales declines.

Milky way crispy rolls: They were pulled from shelves in 2022 and fans were so distraught by the news that a petition was started to bring them back, which currently has over 8,500 signatures.

White Maltese: The white chocolate version of the popular snack had a strong run of eleven years, but due to declining sales it was discontinued in 2014.

But chocolate fans across the country still have plenty to be excited about this year, as old favorites reappear, new treats are released, and quirky snacks quickly move online as first-time shoppers find them.

Earlier this week, eagle-eyed shoppers were quick to comment on a rare cocoa treat they found in a store that others admitted they didn't know existed.

And for those still trying to scratch that Nestlé Caramac bar itch, Cadbury has just relaunched their own version in a brand new form.
