The 21 year old was killed in 100mph collision next to his friend Hashim Ijazuddin after them Skoda was rammed off the road during a high-speed chase in Leicestershire.

Mahek and her mother Ansreen were found guilty of murder at Leicester Crown Court on August 4 after 28 hours of jury deliberation. On September 1, they were sentenced to life in prison.

Now new clips from an ITV1 documentary airing tonight have shown how Mahek got caught up in her influencer lifestyle.

The clip, from TikTok: Murder Gone Viral, shows Mahek saying, “My mom and I went to Manchester recently, just chilling, loving life, like I said, my mom is my best friend, I I'm always with her. Always with her!”

In another scene on social media, mother Ansreen says to the camera: “May [Mahek’s nickname] I thought, I'm not doing it, but I made her do it!”

Mahek's ex-boyfriend Azhar says in the documentary: “She took her mother to hookah lounges, she took her to clubs where they would get promoted – paid for.

“They lived a good life, they were literally going out 24/7, going everywhere together… She tried to act like her daughter. It was really unusual.”

During a police interview featured in the documentary, Mahek reveals to officers that she is an influencer: “I don't know if I should say this now, but I'm out there on social media, I'm a social media influencer .”

When asked if she was responsible for the deaths of the two 21-year-old men, she shakes her head and says, “No.”

Det Insp Mark Parish said: “Mahek was more than happy to tell us about her TikTok and Instagram lifestyle. We didn't have to ask her those questions.”

In bodycam footage taken by police officers at the couple's home when they were arrested, Mahek lies about their whereabouts when the young men were killed, saying they were not in Leicestershire: “First we stayed here, and then we went to Nottingham.”

Last year a court heard that Saqib had done so had a relationship married Ansreen for about three years and “seemed to be in love” with her.

It was said he dumped £3,000 into her on date nights until things allegedly turned sour.

In January 2022, Ansreen tried to end the relationship, but the “increasingly obsessive” Saqib would not accept that it was over.

As a result, he “tried to blackmail” Ansreen by threatening to send their sex tapes to her husband, the court heard.

And the jury was told how the mother made the 'disastrous' decision to leave matters in her daughter's hands.

On January 4, Mahek sent her mother a message saying, “I will let boys jump on him and he won't know what day it is.”

I don't know if I should say this now, but I am active on social media.

That's when she and her mother hatched a plan to silence Saqib by luring him in and offering to pay him back the money for date nights.

On February 10, he was driven by a “completely innocent” friend Hashim to collect the money from Leicester.

But in the minutes leading up to the crash, Saqib made a harrowing 999 call.

He said: “I am being followed by two vehicles and they are trying to stop me. I can't reach one Police station – I need help now.

'There are guys who follow me. They are wearing balaclavas.

'They're trying to run me off the road. They're trying to kill me – I'm dying.'

After giving his name to the driver, Saqib then pleads, “They hit the back of the car very quickly.

“Please, I'm begging you, I'm dying.”

You can then hear him scream before the clip cuts off.

Moments later, the Skoda Fabia the friends were riding in was driven into a tree on a central reservation and “split in two”.

Episode one of TikTok: Murder Gone Viral airs tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
