Police have released a new photo of a man on the run with a melted face after a mother and her daughters were injured in a chemical attack.

It is feared that the family may have been purposefully aimed in the horror in Clapham, South West London, last night.

Abdul Shokoor Ezedi becomes now hunted by the policewho have urged the public not to confront him and instead call 999 immediately.

A new photo of Ezedi shows him with horrific injuries to his face moments after the horror.

He is seen in a North London Tesco, where he is believed to have bought a bottle of water.

It shows the right side of his face melted and bloody as he calmly shops in a blue T-shirt and black hoodie.

Chief Inspector Gabriel Cameron said: “We are now releasing an image of the last known sighting of Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, who was on Caledonian Road, N1 at 8.48pm on Thursday.

“The image is from the Tesco store, where Ezedi is believed to have purchased a bottle of water. He left the store and turned right.

“The image shows Ezedi with apparent significant injuries to the right side of his face. This makes it distinctive.

“If you see Ezedi, call 999 immediately. He should NOT be approached.”

It comes after it was revealed tonight that the 35-year-old has a convicted sex offender.

Ezedi was convicted of a sexual offense at Newcastle Crown Court in 2018.

A source said The mirror he was given a suspended sentence for “assault/exposure” with an unpaid work order.

It is understood this was completed in 2020, when Ezedi was released from probation supervision.

Police confirmed today that twelve people have been injured the attack – including the 31-year-old mother and her daughters, aged three and eight.

None of their conditions are believed to be life-threatening, although the wounds suffered by the mother and her youngest child could be 'life-changing'.

Three women, aged between 30 and 50, were also injured as they heroically rushed to help the family.

A man in his 50s suffered minor injuries when he also entered, along with five police officers who rushed to the scene.

Although it was previously believed to be an acid attack, police confirmed that an alkaline caustic had been used.

Officers previously confirmed they were called to the scene following reports that a child had been 'thrown to the ground' before the substance was hurled at the family.

The suspect tried to flee in a car, but took off on foot after crashing into a stationary car.

It comes after chilling footage showed the suspect running around a car and jumping into it – before appearing to drive into a person standing in front of it.

'I can't see it, I can't see it'

Mum-of-three Shannon Christie, who lives in a block of flats at the end of the road, said: 'I saw a little girl being thrown to the ground.

“That's when I ran in and picked her up off the floor. I heard her mother screaming, “I can't see, I can't see.” So I called my partner to get some water.

“The hospital staff then came over and doused her with water.”

Another witness added: “It was the worst thing I have ever seen.

“She screamed, 'My eyes! My eyes!' Her skin looked burned.”
