Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has supported her daughter Phoebe after the young actress was nominated for a BAFTA EE Rising Star Award earlier this week.

The 28-year-old Bridgerton star is one of five nominees selected for the coveted award and her mother couldn’t hide her pride.

On Thursday, the soap star, 60, took to Instagram to share another headshot of Phoebe from the BAFTAs as she wrote “So proud of you @phoebedyvenor” alongside a red love heart.

She also urged her followers to vote for her eldest daughter, adding: “Please go vote here!” next to a link to the site.

Celebrating its 19th year, the EE Rising Star Award is the only award at the EE BAFTA Film Awards voted for by the British public. You can vote until February 16 at 12 noon.

Phoebe has been nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award for her role in the erotic psychological thriller film Fair Play, which is also called the ‘new Fifty Shades Of Grey’.

She took to her own Instagram to share the news, reposting the same photo as she captioned her story: “Happy to finally share this news!! Thanks @bafta’.

Speaking about her BAFTA nomination, she said: ‘Being recognized by the EE BAFTA Film Awards for the EE Rising Star Award is a testament to the hard work of the entire Fair Play team who brought this film to life.

‘I am truly grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing to challenge myself with new roles and projects. Thank you to BAFTA and EE for placing me alongside this year’s incredible nominees.’

Phoebe has been nominated for the award alongside Saltburn and Priscilla star Jacob Elordi, who has received his first season nomination for a major award in this category.

Also nominated The Bear actress Ayo Edebiri, How To Have Sex film star Mia McKenna-Bruce and star of Netflix series Everything Now Sophie Wilde.

The nominees were announced on Wednesday by Stephen Graham at a press conference hosted by film critic and radio host Ali Plumb, ahead of the ceremony on February 18.

The nominees were selected by a panel of industry judges, including actors Daisy Edgar-Jones, Sope Dìrísu and Himesh Patel, as well as a host of celebrated casting directors, producers and industry experts.

Previous winners of the award include Tom Hardy, James McAvoy, Tom Holland, Shia LeBeouf, Kristen Stewart, Juno Temple, Lashana Lynch and last year’s winner, Sex Education star Emma Mackey.

But Phoebe isn’t the only one following in her mum’s footsteps, after Sally’s other daughter Hattie, 20, joined the cast of Waterloo Road in June 2023.

Posting a photo of Hattie in the school uniform, she wrote: ‘So proud of you @hattiedynevorr playing at @waterlooroad as Libby Guthrie. What a fantastic cast and crew.’

Sally shares daughter Phoebe and Hattie with her husband, actor turned screenwriter Tim.

The couple also share 26-year-old son Samuel, who does not work in the industry.
