This is the moment a daredevil wakes up and skates past the world’s highest infinity pool in Dubai – before plummeting off the side of the building.

American Brian Grubb was pulled past the 90-metre-long rooftop pool by a modified drone from the Address Beach Resort.

The video shows how the three-time wakeskate world champion drives too fast and swerves over the water.

A ramp can be seen at the end of the pool which he then climbs and uses to launch himself off the side of the 30-metre-tall, 77-storey Twin Tower building in a heartbreaking moment.

He can be seen waving his arms and legs towards the ground before ejecting his parachute with the Red Bull logo and sliding safely to the sand below.

The fearless stunt was the first ever combined wakeskate base jump known as ‘WakeBase’.

Brian told me The guard: ‘I started about ten years ago as a utopia and ever since it has been a dream of mine to do this.

‘It took us a long time to build a drone that could tow us, so I had to become better at base jumping.

“And then we found this amazing location here in Dubai and we put it all together and put together the sickest thing I’ve ever done, especially on a wakeskate.”

People reacted in awe to the breathtaking stunt after it was posted on Red Bull’s Instagram page.

One person wrote: ‘I didn’t expect that. So sick!’

While another thought it was ‘insane, the corner gave me butterflies as he walked through the building’.

A third described it as an ‘iconic’ moment, while a fourth felt as if they had followed close behind and jumped off the building themselves.

“You’re so feisty dude! I’m so happy to see you’re finally getting this done! So sick!!!,” said another.

Brian, who first took up base jumping in 2008, added: ‘The idea of bringing these two sports together and taking them to new places was the ultimate appeal.

‘No one had ever done it before, so it was exciting to push my boundaries in this way.’
