Darius Rucker's ex Kate Quigley responds to his arrest: 'Karma'
Comedian Kate Quigley sends a message about ex-boyfriend Darius Rukker's recent arrest.
“Yes. I heard it,” Quigley, 42, shared on Thursday, February 1, via X. “All I can say is Karma. ♥”
In a second post on X, Quigley apparently stuck her tongue out in a bikini photo. “Mood when you hear your d-bag ex has been arrested. 😋❤️. #Karma,” she wrote, according to the caption accompanying the since-deleted image Page six.
We weekly confirmed Thursday that Rucker, 57, had been arrested on a minor drug charge. He was taken into custody by Franklin Police in Williamson County, Tennessee, and charged with three separate felony charges.

“Darius Rucker is cooperating fully with authorities regarding criminal charges,” Rucker's attorney said. Mark Purjaartold Us in a statement. TMZ reported Thursday that Rucker had posted bail and was no longer in police custody.
Rukker was married to Beth Leonard for twenty years before announcing their divorce in July 2020. The exes share two children together, daughter Daniella, 22, and son Jack, 19.
“Beth and I would like to share that after much thought, we have made the decision to consciously uncouple. We remain close friends and parenting partners and continue to be each other's biggest cheerleaders,” Rucker said via Instagram at the time. “Our priority will always be our beautiful family. We have so much love in our hearts for each other and will continue to encourage growth and expansion in each other.”
Rucker quickly moved on from Quigley later that same year. They confirmed their short-lived romance in October 2020. While it's unclear when exactly they broke up, Rucker and Quigley's last photo together appeared on Instagram in May 2021.
After their split, Quigley faced her own problems. She accidentally overdosed in September 2021 after allegedly using cocaine laced with fentanyl. While Quigley survived the overdose, three of her friends died. Rucker said People she did a “great job” that same month when she offered a health update on his ex.
Quigley later asked Rucker in a post on X at the time to “refrain from making public comments” about her health. “Because you haven't called once to ask how I'm doing and you have no idea?” she claimed.

Rucker hasn't shared many other details about his relationship with Quigley, but has spoken candidly about the lessons he learned from divorcing Leonard after their long-term romance.
“That stuff hurts and makes you feel like a failure,” Rucker said People in October 2023, noting at the time that he and Leonard “weren't officially divorced yet.”
Despite the split, Rucker said he, Leonard and their two children are “still a family.”
“A piece of paper won't change that,” he continued. “We're still a family, and it's all because Beth is amazing. She knows this is what's best for the kids, and she's a great person.”
